I got CDR* as a baby from the All-Ohio Swap in Columbus, June 1992.  I had picked him up for my friend's roommate, but my husband Jim thought he was so cute that we ended up keeping him. The friend's roommate was the same person who bought Oobleck, so we feel CDR was lucky that we kept him (and still feel horrible that Oobleck had to go through what she did). 

He's been a very easy-going iguana.  When he first went into his breeding seasons in late 1993, he would mate with any inanimate object.  He never got aggressive.  He hasn't mated with clothes or the iguana doll since 1995's season when he outgrew it, but still remained non-aggressive despite that.

He's 17" svl, and weighs around 9 pounds.   

*CDR (pronounced Koo-dur) is a command in the computer language LISP.   My husband, Jim named him. 

4/1/99- CDR's been cranky for the last few weeks.  First he was shedding and that always makes him cranky, but he injured his mouth repeatedly jumping into his cage door at an attempt to get Igor.  Igor's been free roaming since it didn't work out with Oobleck.  She pooped everywhere and on everything!  Anyway, I moved him to a cage that Igor didn't sit infront of all day and he's not jumping at the door in this cage.  Even though he was eating and acting normal, I took him to our vet to have him looked at.  Our vet told me to keep an eye on it and give him updates on how CDR's mouth was doing.  Also, CDR had a few raw spots on his skin and was given Bactoderm (topical ointment) to put on them.
    After a week the raw spots looked better, but his mouth hadn't changed for the better or worse.
I gave our vet the update and was told to use the Bactoderm on his mouth.  It's been almost a week and his mouth has improved a lot.  I'm also glad to say that as of the last application, I haven't been bitten.
    Getting him out of the cage is the hardest part.  Once he's on the floor, I wrap a towel over him and making sure I have his snoot tightly closed, I apply the Bactoderm all along his lips (he doesn't really have lips, but it's the best description as to where I'm applying it 8-) ).  I noticed that when I first started with the applications there was more swelling and that more of the inside of his mouth stuck out when I held his snoot shut.  Now it feels like there is less to apply to and that his mouth closes better.  I think we'll both be glad when this is all over.
    9/1/99- I have had CDR out most of yesterday and today (out overnight too- Igor rooming with Oobleck while the other igs get some roaming time).  He kept hissing at me last night while I changed gecko water bowls.  He was cranky that I was working in there when he wanted to sleep.  I'll probably get him back in and get Igor out of CDR's cage again.

1/7/00- Either CDR shrunk, I did a really bad job of measuring him the last time, or I guestimated his length because I measured him on 12/30/99 and he was 15 13/16" svl.
