I saw Igor for sale in an ad in the Toledo Herpetological Society's newletter back in November 1991. The boy that was selling him had had Igor for 1 1/2-2 years. He said Igor was nasty. I held out my finger for Igor and he just licked it. The kid was amazed. Poor Igor was in a 20 gallon high tank with just the UV light, no heat lamp. He had spilled some of his water bowl, so he was sitting on a wet astroturf liner. He had been fed a diet of iceberg lettuce and occasionally rose petals as treat. I paid $80 for him and all his accessories, and used most of what came with him for my tokay geckos.

Igor's a trooper. He had his eye removed in April of 1994 due to a bite from another iguana that kept abcessing. He's the iguana that like's to get under the skin of every other iguana. He's small with big attitude!

In addition to losing an eye he's been on the receiving end of many other bites from my other iguanas, some very severe bites, mainly because he did not see it coming. He probably could have avoided many of his injuries had he had his vision on the one side.

Igor is my oldest iguana, at around 16 years old
